Shannon Falls is the third highest waterfall in British Columbia located 1.2 miles south of Squamish. The falls are a short walk from where we parked to hike the Stawamus Chief trail.

Stawamus Chief

Hiked to the first peak of Stawamus Chief with my son and his dog on National Trails day. Squamish, British Columbia

The hike to the first peak is a 1.5 kilometre trail with an elevation gain of 540 meters. Most of the hike is large uneven stone steps, steep staircases, a steel ladder and chains to assist on steep rock surface. For me it was real workout but worth it. The trail was filled with hikers from young kids to seniors.
